Any body running steel cased Russian ammo through their LCP's? Walmart has some tula 380 ammo, and i'm almost tempted to pick some up.

It depends on how much you like your pistol.

I don't like steel cased ammo at all, I find it inferior in OAL, case length, offset of bullet to case, at least with the 9mm I have seen. If someone reloaded like this he would be considered a dumba$$ at least.

I know some will disagree with my assessment but I would ask them to bring their very best gun and let me shoot all the steel case ammo thru it I want.

Some quality brass cased pistol ammo like RWS,Geco,S&B,Fiochii, ect have a steel jacketed(bi-metal) bullet while oddly cheap steel cased stuff like wolf has a true copper/brass jacketed bullet.(their steel cased rifle ammo has a steel jacketed bullet) I'm not sure about the other russian stuff like Tula/Ulavansky.

I don't like wolf or tula but honestly by the time you spend $20,000 on 100,000 rounds your not gonna be worried about replacing a $400 pistol,$100 barrel,or $20 extractor.

The reviews as per the above have been favorable overall, albeit it's on the dirty side. Personally, I stick to my own reloads for the LCP or the occasional factory ball ammo from Remington or Winchester.

TulAmmo 9mm performs very poorly in all my nines. It goes bang but that's about it. Their ,380 was equal to any any I've used so far, meaning it has performed well for me. All you can do is try it and see if the gun likes it.

Purchased 2 box's of .380 for my LCP to give it a chance and found that first 3 mags had at least 1 FTF in each mag and needed a second strike to fire. Also don't know if it was me or the ammo but it seemed to hit low at 10yrds. Not fond if this ammo but its still $3 cheaper per box so I may give it another box or so before I completely write it off. It is what it is..Cheap range ammo!

I've shot about 700 rounds of it between .380 and 9mm, in Sigs, a Glock, Rugers (both LCP and SR9C), and a Bersa.

Aside from inconsistent loading (can tell there's a round or two per 50 that is loaded softer) and having a failure rate of .5% to 1%, it shoots pretty well. I can ring an 8" steel at 100yds out of a P228, P239, or my new SR9C with about the same consistency (50% standing unsupported) as with WWB or Federal. The soft cheap steel cases wearing extractors faster seems silly to me. Steel has an incredible variety of compositions and hardnesses. Try out something that will scratch brass but not hardened steel. It will scratch Tula or wolf cases as well. :)
