SS Old Army 7.5" value??

I have a Ruger SS 7.5" Old Army pistol that has been a safe queen for years. I bought it new and shot it 2 times, not 2 cylinders only 2 shots. Killed a rabbit with one shot and the other shot was to see where it printed. It was properly cleaned after shooting.
I have the pistol in new condition.I also have the owners manual, the original box and the original shipping box that the other box came in. The pistol has Pachmayr grips on it and the original wood grips are in the box. I have the nipple wrench also. I had a trigger job done to it by a professional gunsmith. The only other modification was the replacement of the rear sight blade with one that has a white outline and an orange chip installed by the same gunsmith in the front sight. It has no dings or scratches.
I also have projectles for it.

I am thinking of selling it as I have not used it in many years. I understand that diehard collectors may not like it due to the slightly modified sights. What kind of price should it get if I sell it?? Is $550 out of line??

Sounds reasonable to me. ROA's have been showing good appreciation lately. Some models, the high polished fixed sight versions for example, are realizing very high prices on the online auction sites. However, the more common SS versions are in the ballpark of your estimate.

I just purchased one last year for $600, so I'd say right on the mark. Mine was pristine besides a cylinder score mark, albeit I've put a whole can of Goex FFFg through it now and a variety of bullets. ;)

Was yours a factory polish model, tacklebury? I like that look, and have found it easier to clean on the 5.5" fixed sight one I recently acquired. I am thinking of polishing up one of the well used 7.5" adj sight ones that I have.

When did Ruger stop making the pistol? I bought it 12/82. I was just wondering because might be helpful to sell it if I know the dates.
I will be listing it in the for sale forum shortly along with bullets/round balls and wads. I need to take a photo but the weather has been bad here today and hopefully it will be better the next few days.

I have a ROA that I plan to sell at the gun show in Dalton Ohio in Feb. 2013. Mine is also a 7.5 inch SS in mint to 98 percent
contdition with both boxes, all the paper work and stuff, and is all original very lightly used. I plan to put it on the table for $550-575.

It does have the faux ivory grips on it at present (looks bitchin' that way !) but I have the originals and would like to swap
the grips and keep the ivories if I can use them. My other two Ruger single actions are a .44 Mag Vaquero and a .44 Spec Lipsey.

Will the grips which fit on the ROA fit either of those two SA's ? If not they will go with the gun when on the table.

I was thinking of getting one of these in 2003 when they were $300. I guess I missed the boat! I wish ruger would bring them back.
