i've got a srh that when i cock the hammer hold the trigger back and let the hammer down while keeping the trigger held back i've got some rotation in my cylinder maybe a 32th to a 16th it shoots fine. got it used from a friend but my brand new gp 100 has a little play too. is this normal. all my smiths (models 29, 27, 17,) have a little play my 625 locks up tight as a drum. thanks for the help . hey i'm in hutchinson ks. did anyone around here feel the earthquake the other night

Both of mine have no disernable rotational movement as you describe. Both had some end-play but I adj'd that out.

re your: 'nuke a whale for jesus' whats that about? Wasn't that jonah instead? :lol:

First, if you haven't already done so, take a look at http://tinyurl.com/revocheck as it has lots of tips to help one assess what is happening and help determine ones direction and will save a lot of fat-fingering of the keyboard :wink: Then, from the illustrated parts breakdown from the Ruger instruction manual take a look at the location of the cyl latch and pawl. In fact as a retired logistician I usually order out a set for spares as they are affordable even if not immediately needed. Chances are replacement will tighten things up fairly well if it has not seen duty as a Hollywood prop.
