SR9C what a gun

Took my new to me Sr9c to the range today. No ftf or any problem for that matter.

What really got my attention is how accurate I was with it. I believe that the reason is the trigger. To me it was light and consistent. At 35' I was knocking the bull out of the target. With no problem at all. It's light but recoil is easily managed. I have nothing bad to say about this gun. Have owned and sold many guns glocks, xds, Smith's and others. But this one is not going anywhere. It is my edc and will remain so until I purchase an SR40C.

I agree that it's a great gun. I just wish I could shoot as well as you. I can't group shots for nothing, but I can at least hit a guy if I needed to.

That's what matters. It's funny with each shot I smiled and couldn't believe how well I was doing.

Have an all black SR9c and for me it is the perfect carry gun. Ruger got it so right with the SR9c.

I loved mine so much i went and bought the full size version and I think my compact still shoots better groups.

I find my SR9C to be one my most accurate guns, and I give it the highest fun factor rating of any gun I own. For those reasons, I have shot more rounds through the little SR9c than any of my others.

Rugernut10 has my idea- soon as I can I'm gettin' a SR9 for the bedside table. Had a S&W but traded it for something else I needed, couldn't be nearly as accurate with it as the 9c.

It really is a nice gun. It was my first purchase and I have put about 150 rounds through it so far. I have had a couple of FTFs so far but that could be my own inexperience. I've found that it has a very stiff slide but it seems to be getting a little better the more I shoot it. I find it has very little recoil...not a problem at all. I wish I could say I was knocking out the bull at 35' like luvthegun but again I'm a rookie and I do seem to be getting tighter groups each time I shoot. I'm a little low to the left but I haven't adjusted the sights. I think that as I have got more used to trigger, I may be anticipating when the gun will fire and pulling down a little...but I'll get there eventually. Overall it is a sweet pistol.

Now in this case, I must ask what you mean by FTF - failure to feed, or failure to fire??

Since he mentions inexperience. I would conclude failure to feed. As that could be limp wristing. Not sure how inexperience could cause failure to fire. Funny thing is I always assumed ftf was failure to feed.

Wow. You agree with me then say my intention was to be a smart butt. Saying you can't give advice to someone who did not request it. He was agreeing that the gun was a very good gun. At least with your response it showed me the type of people that post here (not everyone). But this is my thread and 4 post in to this forum this is what I get. I didn't question your reason for asking what he meant. From his post I gave my opinion of what I believe he was saying. I also admitted that when ever I hear ftf I always think failure to feed even saying that it was funny that I never considered failure to fire. I Like the way you edited your post three times but still leave that you think I am a smart butt. That's the way to strengthen a firearm community. New guy to the forum gets called names for posting an opnion. Keep in mind while I am new to this forum. I am not new to guns. And I also served my country in desert shield and storm.

PS a little follow up...I am meticulous about the maintenance. The gun was cleaned and oiled exactly according to recommendations. I really don't think I'm limp wristing either although I suppose that's possible. I've got maybe 1 FTF out of every 50 rounds. I'm not overly concerned just yet. Only about 150 rounds through it so far. I've heard of others with similar problems that went away after the gun was broken in.

SR40c ain't no disappointment neither. Hitting tin cans and clay birds (on the ground not flying) at 50 yards is doable with the little gun. Easily minute of coyote at that range. Will be working at 100 yards soon.
