sr9c problems

i bought the newer sr9c and have a few bugs compared to my taurus pt111 trying to get a good ccw gun choice

i didnt like the pt111 wasnt very accurate shot all over the place and it missfired once out of 60-100 rnds.
seem to have light strike like sr9 series
recoil kinda heavy

i like about the sr9c very accurate nice recoil--

problems-- missfired every 20 -40 rnds then after 60 rounds the pin in front of the trigger guard popped out when the last round was fired.

I know about the grease in the striking chamber i cleaned out after the first shooting at the range. then it misfired again and the camblock pin came out after the second trip to the range and the pin will not stay in now.

I took it the gun store i bought it from and they said ok thats not good -- you think. They said they would ship it back for ruger for repairs fine that great. Then they call me back saying i damage a spring when i cleaned it causing missfire but with kinda of a attitude. But they would send it back to ruger and they will know that i supposedly damaged a spring. needless to say i wont buy from that gun shop again. anyway if they work out the bugs in the gun when i get it back will keep it if not i look at a px4 storm or somthing ..

Get the damn gun back from them as fast as you possibly can. Then call Ruger yourself. They won't have a problem fixing anything wrong with it. Sounds more like it was just assembled wrong or something from the factory. Mine eats everything alive except winchester. I'll be calling Ruger on that tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about your tale of woe. Bypass the gun shop, consider contacting Ruger customer service and return your pistol to them for service.

yah little late for that they air shipped it friday and said 4-6 weeks to get it back man they still have an attitude like none of there guns ever have problems. From what i read ruger service has good turnaround in a week or so

I sent my pistol in, in february. Just over 2 weeks it was gone. I've heard lately that it's closer to 4.

I agree, Ruger will be much nicer about it, good folks. If you can, as mentioned, get it back and send it yourself. Call ema nd they will usually send you postage and stuff.
oops, just saw it was too late- good luck partner, I'm sure Ruger will handle it well.

I would get that gun back from that gun shop and ship it to ruger yourself. They will fix it free of charge. I sent mine back to them just to do a complete strip down and cleaning and they did not charge me anything. even sent me an extra mag with it. I have put about 5000 rounds through mine and i have not had one issue. it shoots everything from high end defense rounds to low end reload crap.

Which pin exactly? The most forward pin, the short one, is held via O-Ring. Don't know it's exact specs, but I imagine it's a pretty nominal size. If that's the pin that's slipping, the O-Ring isn't there, or the pin is in backwards. All of the SR9/c/40 pins are directional, there's a groove on them that is offset from center. All the grooves go on the left side of the gun. Only exception is the pin that has a head on it with some minute machine work that holds the Fire Control Housing in place.

There's only a few springs that can be damaged, but only 2 that effect fire control. There's the Trigger Bar Spring, located in the FCH and then of course the Striker Spring. What ammo were you using? WWB 115gr FMJ has a tendency to be a potential culprit with light strikes when fired by an SR9c. A trip to Ruger will result in a replaced Striker Assembly, but switching ammo works 95% of the time. I believe the issue is a combination of tolerances of both the Striker Spring and the Win. Primers themselves. We'll likely never truly know what the problem is.

Good luck on getting the gun back in a quick time, 2-4 weeks can be normal, depending on Ruger's workload. Sorry you've had issues though. Let us know what Ruger or the shop says is up.

the pin that fell out was the one right in front of trigger guard i never touched that pin when cleaning barrel and striking chamber. i was using ammo flocchi fmj 115 grain and pmc fmj 115 i believe i alway s take a few guns to the range at a time so i split up the ammo alot. i never use the cheap walmart remington stuff. i believe my taurus pt111 has the same issue with the striker assembly. I know my beretta 92fs eats all those loads no problem. i will update you on the repairs when i get it back. from ruger..
