I went to the range today and after 125 rounds the slide would only slide half way, It was able to eject the fired round but would not load a new one. It felt like it was hitting something. I tried a few time to rack the slide with no success it would only go half way. I gave it to the range master and after a few more tries it got dislodged and appears to be working. It became useless, I could not even take it apart since the slide would not go all the way back. This is my CCW, has anybody experience this? By the way the gun has around 500 rounds through it.

Thanks, Juan

You posted on the Rimfire forum. I think you want to post your question on the "Semi-Auto Pistols" forum. I'm sure some of those folks will come to your aid.

Yes, I originally posted in the wrong forum "Rimefire Forum" then I posted again in the "Semi-Auto Pistor". I did not know it was going to be moved.

My SR9c magazine release pin (part #54) was "walking" they sent a prepaid shipping label. I had her back 12 calender days later with new pin AND a new slide which was dtermined to be "defective." I am a completely satisfied customer. They stand by their product. Give them a call!

As I mentioned in the other thread:

What ammo are you using?

Have you contacted Ruger?

Have a safe holiday,

I answered you in the other thread, i guess it is gone. I don't think the problem is ammo because it ejected the just fired round but it could not load the next round. The slide only traveled half way, something was preventing it from a full travel. It is working fine now. Need to go shoot a couple hundred round and see what happen.

What ammo are you using? I shoot 100 rd of Winchester and then the failure occurred when I was using Federal 115gr, FMJ.

Have you contacted Ruger? I sent an email to CS last night. I was going to call today but I was to busy.

Have a safe holiday, You too, Juan

Fed 115gr FMJ (I assume you mean the walmart stuff) is my favorite brass-generating ammo.

The winchester is my LEAST favorite 9mm ammo, ever (again, assuming it's walmart stuff). Dirty and has a lot of outwardly visible manufacturing errors, makes me question it's inner quality.

Send it in, Ruger will do you right. At least you didn't go insane and post something like "ahhh this gun is a huge POS it jammed once and wouldn't fire, it's completely worthless!!!" Some people just don't understand that objects with as many moving parts as a semi auto could never have a 0% malfunction rate throughout the product line. Things break down, thats why manufacturers offer warranties. As I've said to many people before "even a Ferrari breaks down every once in a while"

My Glocks have never broken down. Not even once.

But spend a little time on the Block forums and you'll see they break down just like everyone else's stuff.
AND have been known to go KABOOM quite a bit in .40 due to poorly designed chambers!

I'm no fan of Glocks, but I'm pretty sure Kabooms are extremely rare in reality. It's probably a fraction of 1% of Glock .40's that have ever or will ever Kaboom.

Block. lol In hindsight, I realize perhaps I shouldn't have even made that comment. I don't want to start the whole thing about which gun is better than which...I'm obviously interested in Ruger, that's why I'm here. This grip on the SR9c is amazing (I like it better than Glock) the trigger is equally as amazing. I don't portend that there is one type pistol that is "Perfect" I know there are some that have had issues with Glock, especially with the newer Gen 4 in 9mm... However, honest to God...been shooting Glocks since 1993 (including some in .40) and have NEVER had a single malfunction of any kind.
