In my original post I was asking about the trigger on the SR9 because in a high stress situation I would not want to pull the trigger when I really didn't want to. For that reason I've always been a fan of DA revolvers or traditional DA/SA semi's. My usual carry gun is a 20 year old Taurus 85 DAO .38 snubby. The trigger is very heavy but very smooth.
Around here a DA/SA compact 9mm is hard to find. Everybody is selling Glocks, XD's, SR9's, M&P's, an occasional Beretta PX4 and some model of Taurus. I handled the PX4 and that trigger was too heavy, a lot heavier than my 92F.
Wanting an American made 9mm I found myself looking at the SR9c and the M&P9c. The thumb safety on the M&P is more user friendly than the Ruger and the trigger is heavier, which I like. They both felt equally good in my hand. The Ruger was $150 cheaper and being the frugal person I am I thought the Ruger was a better buy so that is what I came home with.
I know I'll enjoy it as a recreational shooter. I don't know if I'll like it as a carry gun. Time will tell.
