SR45?

It would be nice. I was looking at the SR40, but I think I will hold out a little longer.

I like the ides of an SR45. I have an SR9 and quite like it.
Come to think of it though I have an XD45 Tactical and have not bought an XDm 45... so the SR45 would have to be something really special to get my attention.
What would it have to offer... let's see I have:
An XD45, so I already have a polymer frame .45 that is striker fired and has 13 round magazine capacity.
A couple of M1911s... so the steel framed, single action, straight back trigger pull plus single stack mag thing is taken care of.
A Ruger P345. I have a Ruger .45 with polymer frame, albeit it with certain limitations like the much discussed dry fire/mag drop safety issue and the 8 round, single stack magazines.
A SIG P220 Combat TB - so the high quality, alloy framed, hammer fired SA/DA, single stack .45 with night sights and threaded barrel is take care of.
A Glock 36 with night sights - so the less than full-sized but still big polymer frame, constant action trigger and night sights is taken care of.
An FNP-45 - which is polymer framed and is SA/DA with a very nice SA. It is hammer fired, has a manual safety and decocker, and a huge 15 round magazine capacity.
After all this collecting I like the M1911 and the FNP 45. However, my point is not what do I want, it is what can they do to differentiate the SR45 to get me to buy it given the current crop of pistol offerings.
Aside from looking really "cool" or something what can they really offer? A replacement for the P345 I suspect.

I must say I never thought I would own a 9mm, but then I picked up the SR9 at a local gun shop. It just has the right feel and the 17+1 makes it formidable. So I purchased the thing and am very happy with it. If Ruger saw fit to making an SR45 with a 13+1 capacity it would be dog gone hard to pass up.

Totally. Heck, I'd "settle" for 10+1 a la S&W M&P 45 if they can keep the grip size close to the SR9/40 like S&W kept the M&P 45 grip size close to the M&P 9/40.

I would say there is no question that we'll see a SR45 no later than the end of next year. Ruger will be releasing the SR40c before too long (if it hasn't happened already). It's only natural that we'll see a 45 acp version soon. I would say that you'll see a SR45c 6-8 months after the full sized is released.
The market is too large for Ruger to ignore the 45 acp crowd. It's the SR that I'm waiting for. I have quite a few 9mm and 40 S&W. A slimline 45 sounds really nice.

I kinda went with the premise that they would stay with a single stack design. Magazines are readily available if they stayed with the P345 8-shot design. Then again, they might tweak the SR9/40 design grip and be able to go with a double stack mag. I didn't make a provision for the reversable backstrap because I was just cutting and pasting the SR40 parts over the pic. I might look into that since the long mainspring and hammer strut that rests in the backstrap of the 345 frame would not be needed for a striker fired gun. If it looks okay I'll post it.

The picture mods worked okay and here we have a flat backstrap make-believe SR45. I have a CCH permit and my P345 is what I'm currently using. I also have a fondness for striker fired guns, but have seen no reason to jump away from my Glocks for either the SR9 or SR40. If Ruger came out with this gun in a single stack version, much like I'm showing here, I would jump on it in a heart beat. But, alas, we often do not always get what we want.

At the rate we're going, we'd probably see a SR40c and then a LC40 before a SR45.

There will undoubtedly be an sr45. Just takes time. Took Croatia a long time to come out with the XD45. There's just a lot of differences that have to be thought of first. I for one will take an sr45c home with me in 10 years when they get one out! 40c is next on the list that they will produce. I just don't care how they shorted the barrel length too. All they would have to do is shorten the grip and put a c on it. Ala the XD series. then a super C by shortening the barrel length. But hey what do I know?
