SR45 Magazine safety

I really like the Ruger SR45 but I'm not so fond of automatic pistols that can't fire without the magazine (just personal preference). This may sound crazy, but is this something that could possibly be disabled? I would just like to think that the gun could still be used should the mag ever be lost. Thanks in advance for replies. I believe the mag disconnect on the SR45 is similar to the one on the SR9 and, if so, it can be removed easily once you take the striker assembly out.

One thing I have to give Ruger credit for is they did not hide the Mag safety from the user. I don't know this to be true but it appears to have been intentionally placed for the user to facilitate removal. Or it could have just been luck.

I removed the MDS from all five of my SR pistols, when you remove the striker to clean the striker channel it should fall out, just don't put it back. I removed it on my LC9 too, but that was a lot more complicated. The MDS is a solution to a problem that didn't exist.
