Anybody having issues with hammer bite? I shot 525 rounds 1st time out and noticed that my hand got a nasty wound (after) from the hammer spur, anybody experience the same/

There is no other way holding it! I shoot thousands of rounds with my 1911's, CZ75, Ruger P89 and never have a hammer bite, unless I need to hold it wrong, the web of my hand naturally fills the upper grip! see pictures!

I have not had that problem, but I don't have a lot of meat at that part of my hand. I work at a range and see a lot of guys with big meaty hands who just cannot shoot some guns -- e.g., those little 380 Wathers with the sharp edged slides that come down too far over the frame. The guys will be holding the gun perfectly and still get cut.

Suggestion: The hammer on the Ruger SR22p has some fairly pronounced nubbs on it -- would it help to file off the lower nubbs that make contact with your hand. When you cock the gun -- those don't even come into play. A little cold blue touch-up and nobody would ever notice.

That is what I'm planning on doing, grind off the serration on the bottom part of the hammer or completely bob off the hammer.
