SR1911/Glock 21/Remington R1 Enhanced

I already have the SR1911 and a regular GI R1. I just recently found a guy with a NIB Remington R1 Enhanced and was thinking about trading my preban Glock 21 for it . . . plus some cash.

Anyone out there have this R1 and what do you think about it? What about trading a G21 to get one? I am not sure I want to get rid of the Glock.

Do you shoot it often or carry the Glock ?

As far as I'm concerned ... if you don't carry a Glock ... there's no sense having it. A Glock is just a tool. Nothing more to me.

I'd rather have another 1911 than any Glock if I didn't use it for regular carry. Don't know that I'd get a double R1 though, even though it's an 'Enhanced'. I'd look for a Springfield Range Officer if I were you ... unless it was just a quick even up trade, or you really want out of the Glock.

Either way ... I'd probably do it ... especially if the deal was right.

Any 1911 is a much nicer safe queen or range shooter than a Glock. For home defense or carry I'd keep the Glock for the high cap.

Question: what does "preban" do for a pistol one way or the other? Just curious.

Legal high capacity pistol that can be sold in states that honor the AWB on a state level. The mags are the critical piece to that but depending on the situation a newer gun with the high capacity mags maybe be viewed as illegal.

No I don't really carry the glock. Too big for that but one hell of a beast as far as fire power. However I agree a glock is just a tool. I just can't seem to develop any feeling for a glock. Don't understand those who are intimate with them. I want two more guns for the safe. The CZ75 omega and a r1 enhanced.

Just figgered I'd confuse you a little !!

They are spectacular guns at a VERY reasonable price if you can find one.

Not sure on the trigger series ... wouldn't matter to me one bit either way.

That thing is pretty impressive. There are a few on gunbroker for less than an r1 enhanced.

The RO is supposedly a stripped down and bare bones TRP. Perfect ! If the prices were the same .... there's no doubt what I'd do. I love the entire Springfield line.
