:? Here is one that I'm not real sure how to describe, so hopefully the pictures will do the trick. Oddly customized Type 1 flatgate Single Six with 4 digit serial number. Has a nickel plated MR3D dragoon Super Blackhawk grip frame, a wide serrated Super Blackhawk trigger, and a wide spur Super Blackhawk hammer modified to fit down to the lower Single Six cylinder frame. Additionally, the front sight blade has seen some file work and is narrowed as shown. The grips are black eagle old model Supers as well. The grip locator pin is absent. Everything else appears to be original to a Type 1 RSS, including the Type 1 cylinder frame with no dash in the "SINGLE SIX" rollmark. Early serrated ER button, short throw steel ERH, capped base pin latch nut, flat loading gate.
The cylinder frame exhibits many desirable lightning streaks, some of which can be seen in the pics. There is enough good Type 1 flatgate left to make it worthy of a restoration effort. You would need a XR3 grip frame, grips, OM Single Six hammer, skinny curved trigger, and a smooth front sight blade (hardest part to find). RENE valuation for a Type 1 RSS is $1150, and there is some value in the Super Blackhawk parts to help offset the cost of the Single Six parts.
