<SPF> Factory reblued Ruger Old Model Blackhawk, 45 Colt, 7.5" bbl. Gun has not been fired since returned from factory after reblue. It sports a set of white ivory like grips. The gun was converted at the factory when it was reblued. I have the original parts and they are included with the gun.

Asking $580, shipped to your FFL. Will sell for $525, shipped, without the original parts.

First "I'll take it" email gets it. Payment by USPS money order or cashier's check. Feel free to email with any questions. I am going to list this on a few other forums as well, to maximize exposure. If unsold after a few days, I will take it to auction.

Thanks for looking!

Novice that I am, it's never occurred to me before, but how challenging is it to restore a converted Blackhawk using the original parts?

I've completely disassembled my .357 Blackhawk for deep cleaning a couple of times before. Guided by Bob Dunlap of the AGI DVDs.

So, you just substitute the originals for the conversion parts and you're good to go? Ruger doesn't make any irreversible changes when they make the conversion?

Thanks in advance for the info.

I have to be one of the most mechanically challenged people on this planet...and I can swap out the parts in a Blackhawk in about 10-15 minutes. All that is needed is something to retain the hammer strut (paper clip, small nail, allen wrench) and a properly fitting screwdriver. It is very, very simple.

I am sorely tempted by this Blackhawk. I will go now and wrestle with my temptation.

Better not wait for me, it will be a while.

Thanks for the information on restoring original parts to an Old Model.

Wrestle away, Robert!! :p

As it is a single action, it is legal for me to ship it to your dealer in California, so no issues on that end. Also, even though this one has been reblued, it is still a hard gun to find. Remember that there were less OM 45s (23000) made than 44 flat-tops (almost 30,000)...

:D

I was not aware about those numbers. Thanks for sharing that info. I'm glad I have one secured for myself now. Sure would be nice to add a second one though

I just checked my serial number. It is in the high 2 thousands, so I guess it is one of the earlier models?

Joe. OM 45s only made four years. Yours if 45- 02xxx would be second year 1971 (45-00501 to 45-13195) as is this one.
First year production in Dec. 1970 only produced 500 guns. Reference Dougan 's Single Actions - second decade.
