This is a very unique 1886 from the collection of George Madis. The rifle is pictured in his book and on the cover of a magazine. Ordered to weigh as close to 7.5 pounds as possible. it has a shotgun butt, part octagon barrel and 2/3 magazine. Notice that the octogan part of the bbl. is longer than most and the 2/3 magazine is not that common. The rifle is a takedown and has carbine sights as specified. It shoots like a dream and I took a cow elk with it a few years ago shooting black powder and a Cash-cast bullet....what a hoot. Dr.C

Kevin it is a wonderful old rifle and no one in the family gives a damn about it or its dozens of safe-mates. :-(. Tom Black is up for adoption as well I understand. Dr.C

Doc,
Good grief! Another one? I have a standard LW in 33WCF and years ago at the Natl Gun Day show in Lousiville I saw one almost like yours only a SF in 40-65. I got to handle it and thought it was as close to the perfect '86 as you could ever hope for. Thanks again for the great pics.
