Did the earlier 22 SP101's come in a plastic or cardboard box? Mine, serial number 570-57xxx, came to me in a red and white box for a 38 special. I have started storing my Rugers in the plastic boxes. They stack nice and protect the gun. I am curious if the earlier 22LR model came in the grey plastic or the cardboard. If it's cardboard, I'll probably just get an SP plastic box on ebay. Of course if it came in a grey plastic box, I'll just have to start a search for the real thing.
Thanks

Oh, and by the way, a red and white double action .38spl box would be a rare box.
They were used for only 18 months at the beginning of the 'high back' production and 38 spl was less than 20 % of the Speed Six and Service Six production. If it's a 38spl Security Six, it's even more rare - less than 5% of the Security Sixs are in 38spl. :D

I don't have my serial handy but mine is in a gray plastic box.
