So many hawkeyes, so little time....
I have a few bk- 28 that are naked...with only 3300 know left the factory. That a hard box to find, its complete. And makes a low ser gun more valuable.

Errata: do not think 3300 left the factory........confidants say a pallet of Hawkeyes and parts went to the Pine Tree Casting ops and were destroyed because the lawyers and bean counters thought them a liability.....WTH kind of screwed up thought process is the basis for this? BTW...........NICE BOX!
I did a tour of the factory 27 / 30 years ago, I asked that about them, that was there answer, 5 to 5.K made, just under 3300 shipped.
I'm thinking I should have followed up with what happened the the rest, but I know of one factory employee received one for a retirement gifts in 1988.
I'm just relaying what I was told at Ruger back in the day.

I RESPECT WHAT YOU NOTE. SEEMS WE CAN NEVER BE SURE OF THE "HISTORY" OF THAT WHICH WE OBSERVE. WE DO KNOW THAT THERE ARE NO KNOWN SN ABOVE 33XX........I USED TO BE ABLE TO ASK THESE QUESTIONS BUT THOSE RESPONDENTS NO LONGER EXIST........... :wink:
