In the fall of 2018 I bought a 9mm 1911. In 2019, I bought a red dot and a small dovetail red dot mount for the 1911. I thought I saved the rear sight. I know 6 years ago I put it in the box that the red dot came in.
I still have the box. It's in the back of the closet. in a chest with other small parts, extra grips etc. The box is empty.
I even have the box the 1911 came in. It's got the receipt. It's a Dan Wesson Vigil. Sweet Sweet gun. I've just about turned the house upside down this week looking for the sight.
No rear sight. I'm just wanting to put the iron sights back on and use the red dot on another pistol.
Why Snake45? He once posted that the easiest way to find something is to buy a replacement.
So yeah, I know the second I buy another 1911 dovetail sight, I'm going to find the original sight that came with the gun.
Snake45 also replied to me once, when I asked a question, his reply was: "Is your Google broken?" Which is now a standard reply around my house between my wife and I.
