An update to this video places the blame for the detonation on remanufactured ammunition, which is sadly not uncommon.

The ammo was probably remade by some reloading house, there are quite a few of these guys out there.
They supply range ammo at a somewhat reduced cost. Some of these guys are fairly good, some border on really bad and dangerous. The one that use to supply a range I go to was good at some point but ended up being banned for some very bad batches.

Ya got bad ammo so ..... bash the gun maker, show your bloodied and battered hands, point out fragments stuck in your face ..... somebody is trolling for attention and perhaps a settlement.
