Just returned from a very fun ride in the high desert country around Wickenburg, Arizona. Me & some friends made our weekly ride on the 4 wheelers & it was great, 65 degrees, no wind & lots of fun rocks to shoot at with my Ruger 327 maggie & the new 32 Sledgehammer mould that Fermin ramrodded through on another forum. Its a dandy but an Arizona jackrabbit decided he hates it. Didn't get any photo's as we were headed home for lunch & there was a lot of Cholla cactus between me & him. I did miss him with the first shot (about 60 yds) I was leaning up against the side by side & it was vibrating just enough I couldn't keep the sights on the big buck. the second shot nailed him & the new hollowpoint was officially blooded.
While we were in the desert my good friend Ken O'Neill called & wished me Merry Christmas, made my day!

You are slippin' Dick. We need pics of that Jack. But,, if not, get some up of the 327 & the new slugs! (I haven't cast any with my mold yet,,,!)

What a way to waste a good day! Out riding around shooting when you could have been here in the below zero and shoveling my driveway. Now I know where your priorities are..... We're you wearing your water cooled crocs? Have a Merry Christmas unless you have made other plans. Steve

The mental imagery will suffice for now. Arizona is just enough different from everywhere else in the world I have been to be very interesting indeed from the North Kaibab to Tombstone and everywhere in between. Add in the fact that even in the big city, it is fairly conservative compared to other places and it makes for a great place to be! I haven't been to Wickenburg in about ten years, but it was a cool little town back then, and it had a great little burger joint to boot! Used to love scouting for Coues deer and Javelina as both species are unique to the southwest and very interesting. Back then it was very common to run across gray fox which must have been hungry as they were very easy to call in! It is hard to beat the desert of Arizona to wander around and throw some lead with plenty of dry washes filled with small game, snakes and Gila Monsters to keep up interest! Looking forward of photos of the next outing Sixshot!
