Single Ten finicky about ammo

Did this occur after you had shot several of them? The reason I ask is I have shot some winchester 22s in my single six and they were very dirty. After a couple hundred rounds, they started to seat really difficultly. A good cleaning afterwords and they basically dropped into the cylinder.

No, right at the get go they didn't fit, they did however fit in my husband's rough rider and the 10/22, just not the single ten, remington .22's fit just perfect, wondering if it has something to do with it holding ten rounds instead of six, maybe the cylinder is different somehow

Your gun is fine, it's the ammo. Just try some different types and eventually you'll find what's the most accurate load for your particular gun too.

If it handled Remington ammo just fine the revolver is most likely ok, it's possible that this lot of Winchester rimfire ammo was out of spec.

Yeah, it sounds like a bad box of Winchester ammo.
True to a point but many are 0.001 +/- from others. A case in point is Thunderbolts. They will NOT fit any revolver I own. Work fine in the 10-22.ndcowboy said:

I have had a lot of trouble with Winchester .22 ammo in semi-autos... Not yet had any 'fit' problems such as described in the OP with SA shooting, but the consistency with which I've had trouble with Win ammo has driven me to other brands.

Semi auto rifles tend to have oversize chambers to increase feeding reliability, and Rough riders are probably just sloppy. The Ruger chamber will be right and the ammo a bit oversize and some brands will be snug. It is not likely to be the gun if other brands work fine.
