Single Six Nickle Plated

Noticed these on GB. Wonder how much it costs to nickle plate these? Looks like they did not plate the grip frame or ejector housing.

They may be polished stainless steel Super Single-Sixes. That would be a lot cheaper than polishing and then plating with the softer, more prone to scratches nickle.

These have been on GB before. The last time
they were, I called Ruger records. They said the were
not stainless guns. They left the factory as blued.

I guess that's why they have alunimum grip frames and ejector rod housings which are just polished and therefore don't match the nickel. They can be replaced with stainless steel parts and polished to match the nickel or with carbon steel parts and nickel plated to match.

common and affordable way of doing the guns after plating the parts, than can be plated.......see a lot of the cowboy quick draw guns, nickel or chrome plated, extended hammers and most every time, the housing and the grip frame is stripped and polished aluminum.............folks been plating guns since firearms were invented.
Wish I had a penny for every plated 32 caliber gun we ever seen come out of some old persons dresser or night stand drawer :roll:
