I took it too $1200 and I believe it was a phone bidder went $1250 I figured 15% bp shipping and dealer transfer I would have been into it for $1500 I think it was worth every penny of that it was very nice but not a great investment at my age

On line at proxbid ( or the other one) it said it sold for 1200. Jason never would have taken a 50 increment at 1200. IMO. It might have been an internet bid made before the lot started bidding and I'm guessing that might have priority since the bid was in first. That whole live internet bidding is confusing as to which bid has president

I too bid on that, simply because I recently found sn 281 at a gun shop, bought it and sold it to a collector that had to have it, and in my mind, $1500 was still a good buy for a 3 digit flatgate. Maybe the collector I sold #281 to wanted to have a sister gun for it... hmmm

Well you guys are crazy.....who would want similar numbered guns....

Now consecutively numbered guns maybe......

I have heard of a guy that once chased numbers but I also heard he went to the dark side.....

YMMV......RR

Very nice gun. Most 3 digit Single-Sixes exhibit copper and streaks... Congrats to the new owner. Here is one of mine.

Well it finally made it home last week. Its a good one!! #581 does not have those pretty ivories like Jussbad's but I am happy!! It does have some of that pretty copper/goldish color on the top strap which I really like!

That is a good group of 3-digit RSSs that you have. Interesting that I also have some in the.800 range....804 & 805. I do like the early Single-Sixes.
