Single 6 Combo- does 22lr accuracy suffer ?

If you are comparing any of the NM Rugers, the bore is cut to allow the 22 mag. As for accuracy suffering, the Single-Six will not be a serious competition gun. But it can shoot mighty fine with the right ammo. Usually better than a lot of folks can shoot it.
But if you want a tighter bore 22 Single-Six, look for an OM with a serial number under about 150,000. Those were cut for 22 LR only. After that, all of them are cut to allow the slightly larger 22 mag.

Not an expert, but every single six that I have ever had shot well with just about everything, and a few were outstanding. I use them for plinking and general 22 use and they are more than accurate enough. As my eyes have gotten older, I have more problems than the gun in shooting groups.

If I was going to compete in bullseye match shooting, I probably would grab something else.

PS all of them I have had DID shoot better with 22 magnum.

Mine shoots the 22Mag better. I have some very accurate 22LRs so I seldom shoot the 22LR cylinder.

I have an old model, 22mag is great but I was getting keyholing using 22lr std vel. Someone suggested I try Hi Vel and the keyhoiling went away. Perhaps the extra push causes the bullet to expand slightly and grab the lands and grooves a little better.
