I know it is a sickness, but I really love the short-barreled single actions.
Today I picked up a KNR4 to go with my NR4FL.
Yes, all of my center-fire single action guns also have 4.62" barrels.

Well the fact is that once out of the holster, for many reasons, I much prefer shooting the longer barrels; but, what I prefer to carry is the shorter barrels... and I have everything from the Colt SAA Buntline (12")

... down to the NAA Mini (1 1/8")

I like the long barrels AND the short barrels. You asked about short barrels:

.45colt and single six. One of them is with me every trip to the woods.

T.A.Workman, that little 3 3/4" Single Six sure is a nice gun. What kind of ejector stroke do you get with it? Is it a homebrew or did you have it done?

Hi fellow short barrel fans, all these pics got me thinking about what I had laying around so I got all my short barrel ruger single actions out to share.
Old models are at 12, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 o'clock, New models at 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 o'clock

Here's just a couple of mine:

I'm just too fond of the proportions of the SBH shorty. Compact, yet sleek, yet muscular, with that tough-looking unfluted surface. Mine is bone stock, secondhand, has some "play" but will shoot way better than its owner

There you go!

Lovely to look at, to handle, to dry fire, to live fire. Thank you Sturm, Ruger :D

Ooog... Well, I guess I won't bother taking pictures of mine, I'll just use your gorgeous photos instead. :D

Nice shots! And I agree with your sentiment. This is one gun I bought almost on its looks alone.
