If you must shoot 45ACP in your 45LC go to auto parts store and get rubber "O" ring that snap in extactor groove and that holds the case against firing pin plate once you find the correct size and thickness . And they can be used over and over again and cheap .

Or you can have your gun mach for moon clips and shoot it that way. That is what I did and believe it will provide better ing of the primer.

Not sure how this all works out, but a friend of my Dad's did shoot a cylinder of .44Mag in the .45ACP cylinder of his NMBH.

I would like to see pics of this too. I am not sure I am crazy enough to try it as I have a 45 Convertable but options in an emergency are a good thing. I keep a healthy stash of 45acp ammo including HPs and FMJs to feed the Glock 21 and 1911.

Then again, I have a couple hundred pounds of lead and all the casting and reloading components to load all the 45 Colt I will ever need to shoot so perhaps I shouldn't consider trying it but you know :wink: .

That be why I load and shoot brass .44 magnum and nickle plate .45 Colt. 44 mag just fits too well in a 45 sized cylinder.

Don't see why it wouldn't work Tx. Not practical or right, but would work. Sounds better than moon clips to me as well. Seems like they would be a bit on the thick side at least, not to mention having to pull the cylinder to reload. I think that once you recessed the cylinder enough to clear the clips and rims of the ACP, the cylinder would be ruined for heavy loaded 45 due to unsupported area around the case head.

IIRC, one or two may have split and they all had a slightly bottle-necked appearance like a .38-40.

I had my .45 ACP cylinder modified to take .45 AutoRims. It will also shoot .45 ACPs in moonclips. Of course, you have to remove the cylinder to load and unload.

The exposed head of the .45 ACP and the .45 AutoRim are identicial except for the rim. Both are strong.
