First, I would like to thank lance shively for being so patient while enduring my questions before my purchase. Great guy and business.

The last thing I wanted to do to my revolvers was add shims. I spent a good part of yesterday installing them. Now I have a my revolvers and my girlfriends so that made something on the order of 8 weapons to work on. whew I am glad I am done.

while they didn't seem to make things lighter (as I have read). the trigger weight is about the same as it was before after I polished and tweaked the lighter trigger spring. They do make things run smoother. the trigger pull is just smooth from front to back. I don't hear that "mechanical" feed back from the weapon when working the trigger. This is a testament to the fact that things are in better alignment than before.

I hope that makes since to everyone. I am at a lack of proper descriptive terms .

I do think this is one upgrade or mod. that is well worth the effort. it costs more time than money.

Yep, Lance makes excellent shims, and is an all around nice guy! (Shhhh don't tell anyone! :D )
I have some of his shims in some of my guns & it does improve the feel of them.

update----

hope this helps all who want to try this. I measured my trigger, hammer and hammer dog gap with two feeler gauges. Important to note that some of my trigger bushings were protruding out of the sides of the trigger itself. this Gave me my initial gap. The shims have holes for the trigger retention pin not the bushing. This means that when you got to install your shims you need to make sure the trigger bushing is made flush or slightly recessed with each side of the trigger itself.

I hate to admit it but I didn't come to that profound conclusion until I had already installed all my shims. I kept wandering why my gap measurements were off. I had to work some of the shims thinner using a diamond knife sharpener medium/fine then smooth them with crocus cloth or 1500 grit sand paper. needless to say my finger tip was a bit raw. I will say that lance shivley offered to let me trade my shims out for new ones at no cost. I just couldn't do it as it should have been something that I caught on the first installation.
OK!!! just keep the laughter to a low roar!!! Major Hommer simpson moment!!!

I am currently waiting for a new set of trigger shims to arrive so I can do a proper installation. The up side is ....I learned something and if the guns felt great before they will just feel that much better.

The Shivelys are good people, we are lucky to have shims of such quality avaiable to us !!

silverback , the real testiment is measure 10 or more trigger pulls (by weight ,in ounces) before & after.

I demand consistent ,smooth, creep free triggers , weight has no signifigance, well to a point anyways !

I set up my triggers differently according to what I`m gonna use the firearm for , example my uspsa/steel challenge revolver is gonna be very different from my SD/HD revolvers.

well I have to say that if you do work the trigger bushing down to flush or slightly recessed that the trigger shims fitted correctly this time do make even more of a difference. very smooth quick trigger. I am glad I invested the time and effort. Lance is one stand up guy. I highly recommend.

one more thing to add. Seems the gp, sp101 and redhawk don't' have trigger bushings. this is a major plus. they are just drop in no fuss no muss. I will reiterate that the security six's responded very well with the shims and flush or recessed trigger bushings. It was just a bit of time and energy.
