Back in my younger, post divorce life I met a lot of women. At first all would go well until the facade would begin to slip and I would find their finances were terrible or they really didn't want to work, rather let me pay the credit card. Others would find my conservative views at odds with their liberal views (opposites attract??). We all have different values in life I guess.

Just yesterday I got on our County jail website roster. Pictures of folks, guys and gals, that I worked with during my 13 years with the drug court program. Some of the girls were quite attractive back then. Looking rough now, to put it kindly.
Contra that, I got Merry Christmas and Happy New Year greetings from several who were success stories, still clean, sober, and living a productive life after a scrape with the law and addiction. People can change. It's hard, but it can be done. While Christmas shopping a couple of weeks ago, I ran into one girl that I'd been able to help . Had her beautiful now teenage daughter with her. I got a huge hug from both.
