Seeing red

I like the looks of the XR3/cheese-grater combination on my
flattop that started life as a Super, until I ran a few hunting
loads thru it anyway. Believe I'll go with the red. :shock:

Nice picture, did you say this gun started out as a "Super"??? nice job....we had some over the years that stated out as "protected ear' prefixed Blackhawks, ,made into 'flatops" but that would certainly be a much 'smaller' sized frame...

Thanks Dan. Yup, was an old re-blued Super. 7 1/2"
flattops for shoot'n are sorta scarce, so I made one up.
Alan Harton did the cylinder flutes and refinish.

OK, I'm on board with this one.

#1; A 7-1/2" .44 is THE pinnacle.

Cheese Grater grips belong on "safe queens".

Now, for me, the Genuine early Super Blackhawk grip
frame was the "cat's meow"! No, not the "Long Frame", but the
standard issue design.

This one is in my "shooter pile".

I don't mind the XR3 on a .44 mag as long as the stocks are smooth. I've had walnut and elk stag with little bark and both worked just fine. No grating of my hands. :)

I know, I know, some folks can shoot the XR-3 but it ain't me.....

Here's a righteous shooter.....

A genuine BKH-40 but with a few modifications. The grip frame is from a New Model Super but has been "fixed" to work on the OM... :D
The "square backed" trigger guard has also been "fixed".
The hammer is something I made in my Dungeon and welding bench at a previous workplace.
