Security Six stocks

I have a 2 3/4" barrel Security Six. What do you folks recommend for stocks for this square butted beauty? Requirements are comfort when shooting the .357 mag and relatively concealable and aesthetically pleasing. I tried some Pach's on it that where OK but ugly as sin and too grabby for concealment. It's gotta' be wood.

I would stick with the factory wood panels i.e. "Slim Grips" and look around for a Tyler T-grip. Probably the best compromise out there

If I drop my pinky under the grips, I find my groups shrink, and it is much easier to get a firm hold than when I try to wrap my little finger around the stocks.

vintagegungrips.com also has plastic copies of the "slim grip" for a more durable grip.......they're made of something like polymer, and are very tough. Black ones are like $30, color costs $40, I got mine in a "Coltwood brown" type color.

I kept the factory grips on my 2-3/4" Security Six and added the Tyler T grip and it handles well, I also like the old school look. Another option is the larger factory grips from Ruger for $19.95, but I think they're kinda large for a snubby, they would look better on the 4" or 6" SS. You can also find all kinds of grips for the Security Six on Ebay, including the slim grips.

Grips are for certain a personal preference thing. For me ...... and I have a LOT of these Six Series guns ....... factory wood panels with a Tyler T.

Seems I've tried them all and always returned to this configuration.

I change mine from target to service quite often. The service for hiking and target for the range.

I have a VERY nice Hogue wood Monogrip on my 2.75" Police Service-Six, and I LOVE that grip!..It feels like it was custom made for the gun and my hand(s).

Just remembered ...... besides the factory grips and a Tyler T, I do have one other pair of grips on a Security Six. I bought these because I liked the look and felt they were unusual. As it turns out, they're pretty comfy too.

Pachmayr Legend grips...Very nice!, and getting hard to find for the Ruger "Six- series".

+ 1 for service grip with a Tyler T grip. that is what I have on my 2 3/4 " SS SECURITY SIX. It started out as a police duty gun then was given to an army warrant officer who flew helicopters and served two tours in Vietnam with him. I traded him a GP100 which was too big for my hands. I took the Goodyear grips he had on it and put the original stocks and a Tyler T grip on it.

I have a lot of the Six series guns too, and use all kinds of grips just for variety.

I like the Safariland plastic grips, and also the Sile rubber grips can be found pretty cheap.

Tyler seems to be back up and running, so I would order a T-grip from them and also there are nice condition slim grips all over EBay and GunBroker.

My son did the only sensible thing to make the snubby .357 Security Six more concealable. He bought a .357 LCR.
