Security Six Stock Grips

Back in the early 80s I purchased a Security Six as my first handgun. I slapped some Pachmayr combat grips on it to help flatten it out a bit and help to prevent printing somewhat. Unfortunately my dog decided the original grips made for a wonderful chew toy!

Anyway, I was wondering if it's possible to find original replacements? I realize I should've replaced them years ago. It only recently occurred to me that I should.

I have found quite a few sets at gun shows.

I've seen them on e-bay.
By the way, there are two types of grip frames: low back (ser. no. prefix 150-) and high back (ser. no. prefix 151- and higher). (There is some overlap around the 150-98xxx - 151- 01xxx). Not to mention round butt and square butt. :shock:

"These grips were recently found in the attic of the Newport plant. Oversized walnut grips for the Security Six® in the original packaging from the 1980’s. Grips have the ‘SR’ medallion. Screw included. These grips will only fit Security-Six & Police Service-Six with square butt, with serial numbers (151-) and newer. They will not fit Speed-Six, or Security-Six & Police Service-Six with round butt, with serial numbers (150-) or older."

One set for twenty or six sets for a C-note.

Excellent. I've found what I need in the attic treasures. Mine is a 159- and came with walnut grips (which I've found).

Twenty bucks is a super steal for checkered walnut, hope you got at least two sets. These are even factory new, and made when your gun was.

When I first saw them, it made me miss my old Security-Six, even though I used checkered Herrett's on it.
