Security Six Rear Sights

I am in need of a source for a couple of new replacement rear sights for my Security Sixes as the original ones have much of the paint chipped off. If there are none of these sights availiable is there any other Ruger sights that are interchangable? I would appreciate any leads, thank you.

I ordered a complete rear sight direct from Ruger. Only difference was the new one has the new style logo. Remove the old sight assembly and see what the underside looks like. It will either be flat or have a bump out. Ruger had both styles when I got mine a little over a year ago. I forget which I needed now that is on the gun but was told they had both.Don't know what they interchange with but they must fit a current model if they have the new logo.

I put a GP100 rear sight on my Security Six. The gun was a PD trade in and the sights had been bashed pretty good. A GP100 rear sight is the same as the Security Six sight. My Security Six is from 1978 and a brand new GP sight dropped right in, if that helps any.

I bought brand new rear sights for a project security six from the gun parts corp. Most know them as NUMRICH. Give them a try. The one I had difficulty with was the sec six front sight. I ended up finding one on ebay after watching for 6 or 8 weeks.

Well, the search continues. Ruger doesn't stock the Security Six rear sight anymore and the GP100 sights are out of stock. Gun Parts Corp are out of stock on the Security Six sights as well. EBay and GunBroker were no joy too. I finally found GP100 sights at MidwayUSA and I'm going to give them a go if a WTB ad here doesn't produce any leads.

I have a service six so I don't have to worry about rear sights. Great gun and I will have it forever. .357 Mag with 180gr lead flat nose.

Ebay. I got a brand new white outline rear sight blade for my Security Six for a few bucks and it dropped right in to the sight frame.
