Will a holster for a K frame S&W fit a Security Six?

I'm late to this one, but I carry my 4" Service Six every day in a Bianchi holster marked for a " 4" S&W K "

Also have quite a few duty holsters, the ones marked for S&W 10-64 fit my Service Sixes perfectly, and the S&W 19-66 holster fit the Security Six.

For future reference S&W L-frame holsters fit the GP100 and N-Frame holsters fit the Redhawk, but the Redhawk is wider and it's kinda tight.

I got into a similar discusion not long ago. Not all K frame holsters will fit the Sec 6. Years ago I bought a box of holsters from a closed out copshop. Some of the holsters would not work with a Sec 6 even though they were used. In GENERAL, the looser fitted K frame holsters will work but not always.

A K-Frame holster made for a Model 10,64,65 or 13 won't fit a Security Six but will fit a Service or Speed Six.

I have holsters cut for S&W 19's and 66's that will fit the Security Six. The thicker topstrap and the adjustable sight of the Security Six won't allow it to fit into a Model 10 holster.

Even still, I have Safariland duty holsters marked "SW 10-64" and a Service and Speed Six are a tighter fit than a S&W, the Rugers are just a hair bigger.

With the amount of custom makers currently out there that are charging very reasonable prices why not just get a holster made for the exact gun. The holster and belt are as important as the gun that hangs in it. Many high volume holsters are not as sturdy as they should be and you get what you pay for. Spend 30 dollars or less and you'll wish you had spent $65 when it isn't holding up to use...and don't forget a GOOD STURDY BELT. You'll be glad you did.
