P94/GP100
Single-Sixer
Attached are some images of my 1978 vintage stainless steel Security Six with the standard barrel (model GA34).
I spent about an hour polishing the components after field-stripping with Mother's Mag Polish-the results (and ease of polishing) amazed me.
The front sight blade was replaced with a Millett Orange Bar, and since the OEM Ruger rear sight blade was the desirable (to me) plain black with the wider .140 notch, I kept it; it's been an excellent combination.
The grips are a set of Trausch TJ84R grips, made for a round-butt Speed Six, specifically modified for me by Jacques Trausch-both for the square-butt Security Six, and with an enlarged speed loader cut on the left grip. Jacques is a true gentleman, and an absolute pleasure to deal with, and he's told me that he'd be happy to perform these modifications to anyone else desiring them. His site is at www.trausch.com. The grips positively transform the handling qualities of an already exceptional gun; they're similar to autopistol grips.
The holster is Pacific Canvas & Leather's replica of the WWII Naval Aviator holster for the issue .38 caliber Smith & Wesson Victory revolver; see www.pacificcanvasandleather.com.
For IDPA and carry I use a Blade-Tech IWB holster, and for more rugged outdoor carry I have a Bianchi UM84R, the full-flap revolver holster based on the military issue UM84/M12 holster.
Enjoy!
Best, Jon
