When I was a kid in the early 1970's my dad worked for the USDA screw worm eradication program. This was a big problem in the southwest. They used to go up in planes and drop boxes of billions of sterile flies all over the southwest. It was ultimately eradicated. Now, its happening again, and Mexico is being uncooperative with the USA in starting the eradication program up again. Where I live, on the Arizona US/Mexico border, I can see US Hwy 80 from my yard. This highway runs northeast towards I-10 to NM, then on to Texas. There is a CONSTANT CONSTANT stream of cattle trucks coming to and from the border headed to Texas or New Mexico. I never remember seeing so many as now. Looks like it's all going to to stop!
