I am looking at purchasing a used Ruger 1B in .22-250 made in 1982. Evidently the scope rings that originally came with it have long disappeared. I would like to fit it back up with the period proper Ruger rings. How hard will it be to obtain those scope rings and where would be a good source?

Ruger themselves might be one way to obtain them, although someone here will probably know the answer to that. I think the rings are proprietary to the #1, e.g., not all ruger rings fit all ruger rifles.

Thanks for the info to all. Did Ruger change the scope ring styles for the #1 over the years?

Very early ones were vertically split - $300+ today. The rest are "normal" horizontal split $25-50 a set. If you are shopping on ebay the No1 uses both rings of the same height - the 77 uses two different heights.
