S&W Night Guards are back!

Really nice guns. No lock too.

I think I’m going to pass, I already have a 686 Mountain gun and a 386 Mountain Lite.

Nothing wrong with .44 special it just doesn’t interest me.

Hoping for a .45acp NG or MG.

I passed on a .45acp Night Guard to buy a 1911PD years ago. I have regretted not buying both since

$1,250.00 I think a saw on GunBroker ….. plus shipping, tax, etc

Personally I’d wait 6 months for all the new buyer/beta testers to get the kinks worked out. Not sure why a company like S&W who’s been making the same guns for over 100+ years can’t get these new releases right the first go round?

They are from Lipseys. In 6 months they may be gone again.

I don’t find my scandium .357’s to recoil harshly. These Night Guards have Stainless cylinders which are easier to care for and the weight helps with recoil.

I like my GP’s and Security Sixes too. If anyone is recoil sensitive they should probably stick with those.

All the recent S&W’s I’ve seen come from Lipseys are still on the market (as mentioned in the video I posted). If anyone wants to be the first to get one, by all means, buy away. I got one of the first 432UC’s and haven’t had issues (others have). I waited on the .44 MG after they corrected the issues on the first batch. And mine has worked great. But I won’t be in a rush to get a new 386 NG, unless one shows up at a local shop at a reasonable price. I know the history of S&W’s getting discontinued, but I think we should have a solid 6-12 months of these being available (if not longer). And in that time, issues may arise that get corrected on later batches. That just seems to be the current state of affairs at S&W.

Ok. Then show me where a 617 MG is available, they have been on allocation since last summer.

I don’t know why you want to press the issue. We were just pointing out they weren’t regular catalog guns and if you wait you might miss out.

But sadly I agree there may be teething issues with the first batch.

Six months? I suspect six years will be a better time period for S&W to figure out their QC issues. I've given up on modern DA revolvers except Ruger and even they are suspect. I admit Ruger nailed it with the LCR series.

Respectfully, Gun broker is not a distributor they are a marketplace. Like ebay for guns.

If you buy from them, even a new gun you aren’t necessarily the original owner. You could be buying from an individual or an FFL.

You have to ask yourself why would someone sell a brand new gun on gunbroker? Why can’t they sell it locally? It may have a flaw, it may be overstock at an LGS. It may be fine, or it could be a leftover.

For the sake of this conversation, if you wait a year and buy a lipseys gun from gun broker. It could easily be from the beginning of the production run anyway.

They don’t sell them locally cause they maximize their profit on an auction site.

Secondly, but maybe more importantly, they’re not for sale locally cause manufacturers demand that retailers ( in the Ruger world ) buy 3 LCPs and a common 10/22 just for the privilege of buying 1 GP100 or Redhawk or Super Redhawks. And distributors allocate all their stock to their BIG retailers first ….. yet again shitting on medium and small size gun stores in predominately rural areas.
