Some of you know that I live off grid.....
My TV watching consists of movies on a DVD player... The personal DVD players all seem to be pretty much garbage..... (have many.. trust me on this!!!)
So... I was wondering if any of you RV owners can recommend a flat screen TV/DVD ...
It must be able to run directly from a 12 volt system, not just 110..... (I only run my generator once a week.... so everything must be 12 volt.... yes I do have an inverter, but prefer not to..)
screen size of about 19" or smaller... (my cabin is small)
Under $250...... (that's about all I can justify)...
I see a lot of stuff on amazon, but they reviews give me pause....

Thanks for any experiences....

ciao ya'll

I'm just guessing that you'll have to run the 12v power through an inverter.
Before I retired USPS began doing safety and training presentations on video tape. A TV/DVD/video tape player was shuffled around all the smaller offices and held between trips at my office. I used the heck out of it just watching movies (so it didn't seize up you know) while it was stored. I think it was a SANYO and it was a tough little unit. Came in a padded cordura case and as far as I know worked fine. Subjected to heat, cold, jostling, and all sorts of road miles but always worked. Unfortunately, it was 110v only

If you do a search for 12 volt DVD players you can find pages of them for cars/rv's. Most are less than $100. How can you go wrong? If you are looking for bullet proof electronics you will have to look at pro quality.
