Lately I've been hearing rumors flying around that Ruger will be releasing an SR45 & SR45c early next year. I've read this on another board and I've heard it at 2 different LGSs. Would be nice to see, I'd be first inline for an SR45c. But thats the rumor mill for you.

As with the previous versions of the SR series, they will probably give us the SR45 first and them sometime later the SR45c. As concealed carry has become more and more popular maybe Ruger will surprise us this time and release the SR45c first.

I dont see it happening since they just came out with the SR1911. But you never know what Ruger is going to do.

I sure hope so. I am looking for a compact 45 for carrying. Don't like the price of a decent 1911 compact and all the striker fired pistols are just to thick and blocky through the slide. If this does come to be I hope they go single stack and try to keep the pistol as thin as possible.

Just? It's been out for the better part of a year. what 8-9 months now. I see a new release from Ruger coming somewhere around late March.
And if you want a good American made striker fired compact 45 you currently have only one choice, the S&W M&P 45 compact, which in its own right is a very nice gun. Don't even try to say, Springfield, they are made in Croatia.

A .45 is my next pistol that I want to buy. I am kind of waitung to see if they do release an SR45, but I am not holding my breath though. I may wnd up going with the S&W M&P or the Springfield XD.

For a .45, I'll stick with my G30, P90 and RIA 1911 for now. Not to mention all 3 are plentiful on the market.

I don't get it I can walk into Hoffman's in Newington, Ct and buy 2 any time I want. They always have them. There were 4 in the case today when I went. I guess the LGSs most of you use don't have any buying power. And no they are not way over priced they are $699.95

Gentlemen,
Ruger production is already going wide open, and they are still increasing capacity. What other gun company is on track to exceed one million firearms sales in one year? Most can't come close to that, even with a military contract. Ruger is rated as one of the best companies of any kind by Forbes, and they set record sales each quarter. They do that by making guns that shooters want to buy. While many "experts" here and at other places complain about each new Ruger firearm being pretty much worthless, thousands and thousands of people are buying them. If it was ethical and legal for me to do so, I would buy up all the Ruger stock that I could.

There are already several firearms scheduled to be introduced by Ruger next year. I can't buy the stock, but I certainly intend to buy a few firearms from Ruger next year.

J/K...what I really want is a SR1911 Compact to go with my SR1911.

IMHO the logical new release is an officer's model or compact SR1911.
They have the frame so only a proper sized slide and barrel will be required. Producing the SR45/45C would probably require a larger frame as well as slide to accommodate the larger cartridge. While this isn't an impossibility, the added difficulty of literally producing a new pistol will likely put it in production after the smaller version of the SR1911.
I am certain that the marketing and engineering departments at Ruger are far better than I am at determining product demand and manufacturing feasibility. As with other post on this thread, this is pure speculation on my part, so take it for what it is. :)

Well, call me crazy, but before any new centerfire models, I'd like to see an SR22 conversion or full on pistol. Right now, the only thing that's keeping me from buying an SR9C is the lack of a 22lr training platform for it. If it doesn't happen this year, I"m going to just buy a Glock 26 and an Advantage Arms conversion kit.

Ruger? Hello? Add me to the list of those clamboring for a rimfire conversion kit for your SR9/C. Don't you know you'd pull the rug out from under Glock if you released one?
