Is it just me or do any of the rest of you find the new Ruger web site to completely suck?
I have given it a chance but to me it just has bad flow. With to many tools hidden in obscure places. Hopefully they will find a new web person soon and they will fix it. LOL

I thought it was only me that thought it was messed up. On the old site you could actually FIND what you were looking for without going to a dozen places to look for whatever you wanted...and still not find it.

Too many "new generation" web designers think busy sites with subtle, semi-hidden features appeal to the "gamer" set. Having to click down thru a chain of sub-menus turns me right off.

Ruger's website is definitely more difficult than it used to be. And they're not alone. But that's what it takes to keep younger users interested.

Everything is still there, but what used to be found in one key stroke now requires more keystrokes, multiple pages, and more creativity in searching.

This is job security for the IT folks in any corporation...Making websites difficult. While IT folks are high-fiving each other, they are driving business away, and they're not being invited to office parties.

WAYNO.

I find it pretty easy to navigate and straight forward. All else fails, there is "menu" to utilize. Not sure it's so much the new generation web designers as much as it is the older pre-web folks used to the old, plain and less content styles. With as many sites changing to this style, I gotta believe it works better for the companies.

The newest Ruger website is more confusing than the last new website. ...and so it goes.

You would think they would put more importance on products and customer information/service than on promoting their newest models. :D

One would think that.
I find that when I am going to the Ruger web site I am looking for some sort of info on what ever gun it is. I do not care to see advertisements on whats new at Ruger. I get them delivered right to my email.
The old web site had the what's new right on the front page. But it also had all of the links to any of the items one might me looking for on that page.
Now it's a hunting expedition just to find the sr# history.

Another 'new & improved' website!

I think the problem these days is they write this stuff to be modular for everyone with cell phones instead of computers. Yeah, it pretty much sucks. Everything that seems to get 'improved' these days ends up sucking worse than it was when it was unimproved!

Best regards, Pete

I don't particularly like the bottom 25% of my screen being taken up by a red banner with just...
RUGER SAFETY - TELL THE CEO - CUSTOMER SERVICE - RUGER CATALOG
...in it, it seems like a waste of space.

I've hated it and I let them know. The only reply I got was that it had to be dumbed down for mobile devices. I believe them, I just don't like it.
It feels dirty. It feels - desperate.

No references to hunting or "normal" uses for their guns. Compare to Savage, Remington, even S&W runs a more-interesting to read website.
Ruger's website is ... bleh.

"Tell the CEO". Do this twice a week.

Seems Ruger is leading those manufacturers in production and sales though. ;)

Let's see...to find any particular model, you choose the type (revolver, pistol, rifle), the action type and then model. Seems pretty straight forward. Having it also broken down to be able to go to just special distributor editions, rimfire choices, etc... Yup, very simple to use. If one really gets lost looking for a particular model, like every site, there's the search function - that feature practically nobody uses.

Right now the "Tell the CEO" is not working till the 29th. Everyone must be on vacation for the holiday. I will be there next week and voice my displeasure.
