I picked up a new blackhawk today 44 special and BOY what a surprize This has to be one of the best revolvers that Ruger has produced .The fit is superb nice wide trigger ,no creep and a CRISP trigger I can not wait to load up for this beauty.
How about some load info and some pic of after market grips and rear sights. This will make the PERFECT woods gun and I can see a few Hogs and Black Bear in a world of hurt , I call this my baby magnum. :D :D

One of my favorite loads - 250 Keith over 7.5 gr of Unique.

:D . Now you're talk'n! Just had one of mine out during lunch break to run a load test :) . Never disappointed after a session! Haven't found a load it really doesn't like. Still I gravitate back to the 7.5g Unique under 240g SWC bullet, but I could shoot some other powders to get same results.... Enjoooy!!!

I pulled out some 44 special cases and Keith SWC 240 grain heads ,the Unique is on the loading table What primers do you use?

I paid 450.00 out the door for this gun ,is that a fair price?

Mine was $412 OTD. Bisley was more...

Just use regular primers with Unique. I use CCI-300s. That said, I just ran a test back to back with CCI-350s with everything the same except the primer, and there was no real difference between the two (a few fps is all) . Unique is not primer sensitive. Use what you got on hand... work fine!

I use WLP primers for that load.

ETA: I pretty much use WLP for everything because I have a crap ton of them. As stated above I think any generic primer will be fine.

Aren't these guns fitted with a "copy" of the old Micro sights?
I don't believe there are any options for 'ya, except, perhaps, a rear sight blade....... maybe.........

The 10-1/2" barreled Maxi's and Super's (with Bull Barrels) came with a "narrow notch" rear sight blade. I've put them in several of my shooters....

Yes they come with the old style micro rear sights is there a white outlined sight that I could put in?
