ruger speed six grips

I reciently picked up a ruger speed six 357. seriel number starts with 150. Im looking for a set of wood grips for it if anyone has a set at a resonable price.

There is some slop over from low back to high back around the end of the 150- ser. no. range. Are you sure it's a low back grip frame?

I'm not sure how to tell. I was just reading that the 150 series couldn't use the 151 grips. the metal is not round but is rounded on the front and back. Just don't want to pay a lot of money for nice wood grips only to find out they don't fit. Anyone know how to tell? What is a low back grip frame?

A low back Speed Six is in the front, the high back is in the back.
Notice how much of the base of the hammer is exposed on the low back and how straight the back of the grip is in comparison to the back of the high back grip.

Thanks for showing the difference. Lucky for me, both of mine are 151 plus numbers, so grips not an issue. BTW, both mine have originals. They both shoot fine at the range, so I see no need for any others. Just lucky.

I believe that I have a pair of Speed-Six low-back grips around here. Let me see if I can locate them and post a photo of the exterior and interior and see if they can be ID'ed. Unfortunately, I don't have a Speed-Six to try them on.....
