Hey guys (and girls)---Any idea about how many Ruger Speed Six 9mm revolvers were made? Approx when? Approx selling prices? Thanks!

So far, Ruger has refused to release production records so we don't know how many were produced. Production started after 1976 although they are in the 1976 cataloge.
The current value is what ever the traffic will bear with some going for close to $700 in NIB condition, with the box. Of course, condition is everything. Check the sold listings on gunbroker.com for actual selling prices.

I don't know.

But a number of years ago a local gunshop had one of them and a 6" stainless Security Six, both for $229, both all but new. I looked over the 9mm Speed Six for a good long while then thought, "what do I need one of these for anyway; I'll never carry it and the 9mm is a pipsqueak round I generally loathe" and got the Security Six.

It may have been wiser to have bought the other one, at least if I was thinking about selling it anyway. Oh well, I still have a great gun! And a SP101 to carry.

As already stated it is difficult to find production information. Fortunately I have a pair of stainless models with 2 3/4" barrels.
