Ruger pump or autoloading shotgun...

Who would like to see either or both of these? The series could include hunting and tactical models and prices to compete with Remington and Mossberg. Come on Ruger, not all of us have several thousand dollars to drop on fancy red or gold labels.

Depends on how much plastic, aluminum and MIM they stuck on it.
If they keep going down the same road they've been on lately....probably not.

They could be on the way Ruger did have a job posting on their website for a shotgun engineer and a few other jobs that would lead down this road. Also the new factory in North Carolina leads one to believe new stuff is coming.

A well made inertia auto selling below the Benelli price point would be welcome.

Remington seemingly keeps sliding downhill, so an well done entry level pump (Express style) would also be welcome.

Would strongly prefer a 20 gauge double barrel............thank you. There seem to be over abundant supplies of both domestic and foreign pump and auto shotguns. Appears Ruger can make far more money on other developments............. 8)

Never a twenty gauge to my knowledge. One of our associates noted Ruger curently looking for a shot gun oriented design engineer. Seems there were issues with the process, somewhere, with the 12 gauge double, which most of us are not privy to........Glad I have mine 8)

I noticed that your thought was "shotguns", as-in plural.
I wouldn't mind that at all. Fact is, there's a spot on my want list for a reliable semi-auto 12GA and an apropreatly-sized 20 Ga SXS. If Ruger offered such critters, they'd certainly get my attention. That is assuming of course, that they'd be made of suitable materials, were stocked with some sort of hardwood, AND that Ruger adopts some sort of meaningfull QC program beforehand.

I sure hope you are right, been thinking about a CZ 20 O/U, but if the RL 20 is coming, I'll wait. Seems RLs are the same price point as a #1?

If Ruger can come up with something a little idfferent, like a pump that's fully ambidextrous like the BPS, with a price like the 870. Give it a humpback profile like the old Browning, and you'd have a great place to put a receiver sight for a rifled slug version.

I can if it has innovations along with the Ruger durability & balanced well, attractive & a good price point. There is always room for a value added product even if it means the runt of the litter drops out of site!

maybe they will be the first to invent a 'comes loaded, use once and toss it' model? would save on a of lot repair costs down the road.

then again, i think they have a few of those gun designs already in production...... :lol:

I would love to see Ruger make those, but I don't think that we can complain too much. Over the years, Ruger has offered us a large variety of offerings to choose from.

On the flip side, I'm still waiting for that new upstart, Glock, to come up with their second firearm before I pass judgement on them.
