I have a dark blue plastic portfolio with a clear ziptop closure with a metal tab it's sized 14 3/4 x 11 1/4 to hold 81/2 x 11 documents horizontally.
On the bottom right corner in gold is their emblem, name and Southport CT. below is printed "Quality firearms for Sportsmen and Law Enforcement Agencies". There is no place for a name or department.

It looks a little too nice for just holding a document and I am wondering if it may be for some sort of a presentation. While I expect I'll hang to it as a revolver would look nice laying on it I would like to know what's it for and if it has any value.

They come up now and then and will command prices in the $10-15 range I notice. There was also a red one. I know I have a minty pair and I think an extra or two of the blue one.

Actually, there are a few different Portfolios out there. There are a couple of variations of the blue ones & the red ones. I happen to have several of them myself.
I believe they were one of those little "gifts" given to dealers by sales reps back in the 1980's if my memory is correct.
Value? Around $20 average.

Thanks guys I don't feel like a fool for buying it for $5.00. Also knowing valuation of it I further feel less of a fool for just letting a pistol lay on it and look good.
