My rifle also has a much higher muzzle velocity but isn't CO2 powered by a small CO2 cartridge. Sounds like a fun little pistol and the price is right.

365 fps isn't bad for an air pistol. I have three air pistols and they're all right in this ballpark.

But this one isn't powered by CO2, you cock it for each shot. So it's basically free to shoot (except of course for the pellets).

365 fps isn't powerful enough to hunt anything with. But the real question is, how accurate will it be? If it can stay inside an inch at 10 yards (benchrested), then it will be accurate enough for meaningful basement practice, and lots of backyard plinking fun.

I like the substantial weight and low price. I'll probably be trying one.

Well, I've been thinking of getting a pellet pistol and after seeing this I decided to pluck my money down for a pre-order. Should be here in October, just in time for me to tell the wife it is a birthday present for me. I think it's a great complement to my Ruger Mark IVs and will give me a way to practice without leaving the house.

At that price, I might have to add one to my Crosman Mark I (.22) and Crosman Mark II (.177) CO2 pellet pistols. At least it's made in Taiwan, not Red China.

I look at that and have to smile. Get a .22lr for practice, to save ammo cost from
center-fire calibers, and now get a .177 pellet gun to save cost from the .22lr. :wink:

It’s not just about cost. It’s about being able to shoot at home in the basement anytime you want. I shot thousands of pellets into an old styrofoam cooler in my parents basement.

The nice thing about this one is the grip angle matches the Ruger .22 making it a better practice gun.

I did the same last Christmas with the Beeman Sportsman Series air pistol. It is one fine well-balanced pistol at 410 fps. They were $40, but now are $47.85. They are fine squirrel/rabbit killers. But I think I am going to order one of these too. I have to say that all 5 Beeman Sportsman pistols that we have are all VERY accurate right out of the box, and those fiber optic sights are absolute the cat's meow on old eyes like mine. Still, I want this one (even if it is only Ruger in name) as Umarex is a decent name in low-end air guns.

By gas powered, they mean there is a gas filled piston in it that is compressed each time it's cocked. You can not pump it up multiple times like my Crosman American Classic pistol to achieve more power Speaking of gas piston guns, I have a Gamo Bone Crusher rifle. That rifle works the same way, you can only cock it one time. It's a great and accurate rifle.

But I'm wondering about this Mark IV pistol. What concerns me is "how hard is it to cock". What I'm thinking about is giving it to kids as a present. On that bone crusher rifle it's pretty hard to cock it. Maybe it's because I'm 74 years old now. When I cock the thing, I break the barrel and set the butt stock on the ground and finish cocking the thing that way. So, it makes me wonder how hard that Mark IV is to cock even with a smaller gas piston.

Sadly, y'all might want to make other gift plans. I just checked Pyramydair's website and they're now not expected until 1/12/22. Neither are two other new Umarex airguns I want, which were supposed to arrive in September and November.

Pyramyd is one of the biggest airgun vendors, and so is among the first, if not THE first, to get anything new. I doubt any of these guns will show up anywhere else beforehand.

OTOH, a couple months ago they had something I wanted listed as out of stock until September, and then they got some in in late July, and I bought one immediately. But this was an existing product, not a brand-new one.

I guess we'll see when or if ever these are available. :?

Oh, I also just noticed that the PA site has the weight listed as 1.35 pounds in one place and 3.15 pounds in another. I'd prefer something in the middle but would prefer 3.15 pounds to 1.35. I really dislike lightweight, toy-like airguns.

I’m not familiar with those, but I have a Beeman Tempest. It’s well made, and fun to shoot. I’m buying these for my kids who already have a couple mk2’s each.

I’d love to have a Tempest, or maybe a Hurricane.
I almost bought one at Cabelas for ~ $150 year back.
They tried a remake(Turkish I believe) that didn’t fare to well.
I missed an English made one on a forum for $70 a few years ago.
Not a hard shooter, but to me they seem classy.

Got mine today, too. Haven't had a chance to much more than liberate it from its hellish plastic bubble tomb. Re my previous comment about weight, sure seems to be closer to 1.35 pounds than 3.15--lotta plastic here. Hope to have a shooting report up in a couple days.

Mine came from Pyramyd, which is still showing them out of stock/Pre-Order. I think what happened is that their pre-orders (like mine) exceeded the number they got in their first delivery, so they're still behind. The good news is the new expected date is 12/03, up from 1/12/22, so there's a chance you could still get it for Christmas. I'd advise pre-ordering now. At least now we know the product actually exists. I hope to shoot mine today.

Just shot mine for the first time. Only .177 pellets I have on hand are Crosman Copperhead wadcutters.

First 5-shot group (about 8-9 yards) off a benchrest was about .9", low and left. Adjusted the sights. Second group was closer to center and about .8 inches. Another sight adjustment should get it right on.

Trigger pull is not great. Seems to be on the far side of 7 pounds, maybe even 8, maybe even more, though it does break clean when it finally lets go. I think the gun would be more accurate with a better trigger pull. Maybe it'll "wear in" a little with use.

The grip panels seem to be separate and screwed on. There's a good chance the gun will accept "real" Mk IV grips if you want to swap them, but don't quote me on that for a fact, because I haven't proven it yet.

The barrel and "upper receiver" are metal, the rest of the gun is plastic. I think the 1.35 pound weight spec is accurate--it sure seems lighter than my other Umarex all-metal air pistols, which are all right around 2 pounds even. Weight of a real Mk IV with aluminum grip frame is 35.6 ounces; with stainless grip frame, 42.8 ounces. Plastic-framed 22/45 weighs 34.4 ounces.

More to come--and pics--later. Oh, those of you with no break-barrel experience, DO NOT dry-fire this gun. It can damage it. ONLY pull the trigger if the barrel is loaded with a pellet.

I just unboxed mine. I bought 4, 3 of them have consecutive s/n’s which is pretty cool. Shooting it quickly I’m very happy with it. It’s easy to cock. The safety comes on automatically each time. Trigger is heavy.
