That is a good price. I believe I paid 1250 OTD for mine. I figured they would come down in price but I was impatient. But I really like it.

I'm extremely impressed with the fit, finish and feel of this new 1895. As it's rainy and freezing out, I flipped 3 medium rounds in it, after pushing a patch down the tube to check for packing grease. Cycles and shoots flawlessly I didn't run a target out, but just wanted to feel the outcome.
The for-end is slimmer than previous 1895's, and the recoil pad feels great. Should have some sun by weeks end, to play some more

I put a few more rounds thru it between ranch chores. Just used some mid strength 405 grainers, that I had loaded for my Shilo Sharps. It liked them and rung steel on the 50 yard range. I'll set up a target and shoot for pattern one day. I'm very pleased with the new Ruger/Marlins
There $1199. Mondays till Christmas 10% off firearms, 5% more for military/ first responders- brings it to $1020.

Local store has one for $1300.00 and they'll usually deal a bit on asking price.
