I need a suggestion on ammo. My Ruger Mark II VLE .223 Rem has a 1 in 12 twist, I have read on another forum that 55 grain and under is best for my slower twist. I reload and would like a suggestion on bullets and powder for mostly target to 300 yards and occasional Coyote hunting in Upstate NY. One combo that should be good for both if possible. I know each gun is different but need to start somewhere. Anyone with a 1 in 12 twist out there that can help?

I am going through a search for a load that shoots in the same twist as you have. So far I have been getting close but no cigar. All the better shooters are under 50 grain. The best so far has been the Winchester white box 45gr hp. They shoot an honest 1/2" at 100. I havn't made a reload yet that is in the ballpark as that. Mine is in a Rem. XR-100 btw.

Thanks RJ, I'll give them a try, hoping to get to the range as soon as it gets a little warmer and less windy. Hopefully next week.
