I got a Mark I off Gun broker and when I got it I was going to clean it. Then I though I would check the S/N, It came back as a mark II. I started to break it down but the upper wouldn't Part from the lower. I got it apart and I know it was droved together with a rubber or plastic hammer. My Question :: Will a Mark II receiver work on a Mark I Frame, I don't see a problem myself, but I don't know everything, I just want to be SAFE!!!
THANKS for any HELP,
BULLSEYE SMITH

I don't know the answer to your questions but feel sure pics would help and maybe the s/n too.
Aren't the receivers roll marked on them if it's a MK-II / MK-III / Standard / etc? Was it not pictured or how was that missed?

Short answer, yes. A pic will help to refine the answer details.

A MK-II upper (serialized part) will work on MK-I lower, but some functionality will be different. I'll have to think about it to get the details and I'm too tired to think that hard right now.

Pics of the upper, frame, and bolt will go a long way.

Dan is correct, it will work with qualifications. You will need to use a MKI bolt for the original safety in the MKI frame to work. Please provide pictures if you have any other arrangement.

Ok. If it has a MK-II upper ( which I assume by the serial number lookup) and it is a MK-I lower then you will need either a MK-I bolt or Mk-II safety lever to make it 100% functional.

The early safety goes up into the bolt. The MK-II does not. So you need to have a bolt with the notch, or a safety without the tongue.

Without looking I believe both eras lock the sear.

I've owned several .22 Pistols over the years, and some have required a little coaxing with the plastic hammer to remove/install the uppers. Seems to be common as tolerances vary. After dealing with the first one such, it ceased to be a matter of concern for me. JMHO ;)
