Ruger LCR in 22 Mag???

I came across something today that made me think. I know, dangerous thing to do. Hornady is now offering a 22 mag critical defense load. On their website they show the ballistics for the load out of a 1 7/8" barrel. So what am I thinking? Well Hornady and Ruger have always had a very close relationship. They have developed a lot of products together. The LCR has a 1 7/8" barrel. But how to market a snubnose 22 mag? Well you need some defense ammo. So what you think 22 mag LCR at the NRA convention? If I was a betting man I would put money on it.

And the more likely scenario is Hornady is marketing the ammo to all those people who have bought S&W J frames and NAA mini revolvers in 22 magnum.

ETA: The S&W J frame 22 magnums have 1 7/8" barrels. The NAA's are available with a 1 5/8" barrel.
