Is $300 a good price on a 90-95% Ruger Blackhawk .357 with the 4 5/8 barrel? Its the gun and the case thats it..no visible scratches bluing loss or anything like that. lockup was tight/fine. its the newer model.

Yeah, I didnt think it was exceptional...but i have a dilemma of the 2 of those are sitting in a shop immediately available..I have a gun shop that cant sell anything right at the moment ebcause they are going through a change of ownership and their FFL has not come through in the new owners name yet so they cant sell anything..but I did find a nice Dan Wesson 15-2 for $270...BUT they keep delaying the time when I could get it..ive heard another 2 weeks for 6 weeks now and just got the..it should be 2 more weeks today(ive had it set back for pickup since around Sept 12th)...I dont think they have a clue when they will actually get the FFL back...so I honestly have no idea when I can get the gun...so today while looking I saw these 2 Blackhawks...and now wonder which I should get the BH or the DW and with till they finally get their paperwork in order..

Blackhawk would be my choice. If i was going to get a double action it would not be a Dan Wesson.

Hmmm, never owned a DW, my 2 DA's are S&W, but always heard they were finely built and very strong guns. I'm curious as to what gives with your statement?
(Maybe in a new thread, don't mean to hijack  )

Dan Wessons have great reputations. Many heavy loads are listed as Ruger or Dan Wesson, such as Buffalo Bore

But... but.... who really wants a double action? Stick with the better looking, feeling, wonderful, etc.... Single Action Blackhawk :) . Good price....

speaking from experiance go ahead and pay for the blackhawk and put your name on it. Because it will be one of the first ones out when the paperwork arrives. If it's paid for and tagged it will be yours whenever they get straight on their paperwork. That's a steal on that gun.

On DAs back in the late 80s the local shop sold alot of Dan Wessons for a short time and got most of them back for flaws. The owner started cautioning people that wanted to order one. Ijust know this cause i was really interested in the interchangable barrel option even though i was to young to buy at the time.
Then they came out with the 1911 line and i heard alot of cussing about those.
Might be good guns but i never heard good on them.
Just talking out my arse from hear say.
